Salary: circa £24,000 – £30,000 pro rata, negotiable depending on experience
Working hours: Approximately 20 hours per week with flexibility on days / hours to suit the right person
Temporary contract: To cover maternity leave for 13 months (which includes a 1-month handover period on commencement)
We are a leading PR agency based in the heart of Chorlton, South Manchester, offering flexibility and hybrid working allowing remote working for at least 2/3 days a week.
The role requires a self-motivated, hard-working, reliable person who works well both independently as well as being a team player; you will have the confidence to work autonomously with a meticulous eye for detail.
You will report to the Managing Director and have support from the company accounting firm available to you. Responsibilities include:
- Reconciling bank transactions both business and Pleo expense accounts
- Uploading and processing expenses via accounting software (Dext)
- Updating internal aged debtors from reports
- Chasing overdue accounts and recording updates in aged debtors log
- Accruals
- Deferred income and prepayments
- Preparing suppliers payment run
- Liaising with the payroll department to notify them of any monthly changes to payroll
- Inputting employee payroll details into bank account for MDs approval
- Preparing various monthly reports for the SLT
- Assisting with preparation of management accounts in coordination with accounting firm
- Client invoicing (including for international clients)
- Issuing credit notes
- Manging pre-paid card balances
- Processing staff expenses
- Liaising with senior account managers/directors and overseeing budget management of key/large accounts
- Managing and reporting of monthly recharges
- Answering billing queries from both client/account teams and responding in a professional and timely manner
- Ad hoc finance duties
Experience:
- Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
Experience within a similar role is required, preferably with good working knowledge of Excel, Xero and Dext.
