Here is a slide deck outlining some of the key points that I am planning to raise on the PR and SEO panel at SAScon alongside Lexi Mills of Distilled, Simon Wharton from PushON and Peter Bowles of Dynamo PR.
I believe that PR and SEO are intertwined and with each new Google algorithm update, PR coverage (with links) becomes more and more influential.
I am not saying that manual link building is dead or anything like that, nor am I a white hat Rand Fishkin fan boy. My SEO ethos is to do what works, but also make sure that you are running SEO PR campaigns that build quality links from authority domains. This will ensure search engine visibility in the long term.
The challenge for SEOs and PRs is to integrate and I think the main challenge will be in understanding all our objectives and how we can deliver against them.
